6:32 pm - It's been awhile.
|
Despite the fact that I haven't updated this journal in... oh, 2 years?-- I still harbor a secret love for Dominic Monaghan. It's strange to think that all the things that happened was so long ago too...
Anyways, I'm sure most Dom fans have seen the official Wolverine trailer that has been released online. You all probably have pressed your nose against your computer screen, squinting your eyes, to try and make-out the small image of Dom 37 seconds into it, too... I know I did. Ha.
I can't believe I am going to be talking about X-Men in my LotR/Dominic Monaghan journal, but here goes:
I hated the X-Men 3 movie and have disavowed it's existence.
Confession: I am a semi-purist when it comes to the X-Men, and already, I am completely apprehensive of this new film coming out. I am very flexible when it comes to the re-telling of the X-Men stories and character stories, of course, but X3 didn't do a good re-telling. Basically, that movie fucked everything up.
Although I will eagerly sit and watch Wolverine in the theaters when it comes out, I already have so many things I have a problem with.
I do NOT like the actor chosen for Gambit is my main beef. I hate the way he looks. He looks like a bloated rapist. I'm serious. Bloated motherf'in rapist. They got him so wrong, that it's just wrong. I'm so offended by this that I might just barf whenever he's on screen.
The story-- at least what I can ascertain from the trailer-- is suspicious to me. But I can not fully judge until I've watched it. I am hoping this movie redeems the X-Men movie series for me, after how X3 assraped the love out of my system and then killed my unborn babies in front of me. Yeah. I know. Harsh words, but you people have no idea how angry I was after I've watched that film. It's kind of ridiculous.
Dominic, I look forward to your entry into the Marvel-verse/superhero movie land. I don't know what's going on with you anymore, but I will come enjoy your movies when they come close to me!

11:12 pm - Together... But Not Like That.
|
Hey there!
I deleted people I don't know off my Friend's list here. I also made tons of my entries private and friend's only. The only public entries are news related stuff. Most of my thoughts/Dom encounter entries/LOTR cast members encounter entries are now hidden from everyone else but me. I figured, it is something I honestly just want to keep to myself and for only me to remember. :] Sorry if that sounds a little selfish.
Thanks for watching, everyone. From now on, most of my entries will probably be under private from now on, and just a few friend's only. I decided this journal will be for me. Feel free to delete me off your friend's list, even if I kept you on mine.
I gotta watch the movies again one of these days. I felt the urge to watch Return of the King going through all of my entries here!

11:06 pm - Site... Trees For Peace--
|
Visitation over at Together has dropped considerably after the ROTK hype :o So now I can pretty much relax, I think. Though I am rather disappointed that people lost interest in Together so fast, I am relieved at the same time. Before, when the site was hitting over 100+ everyday, I felt that I had to update it regularly and keep up with the Dom and Billy news 24/7 to satisfy my audience.
But now, I think I've done about everything I can with the site, and I'll leave the major news updates on theonering.net and bagendinn.com, I think. Right now, especially... since this college semester is ending soon, and I'm swamped with work. I can't keep up too well with the news and such x_X
Although, Trees For Peace is kicking it up again ^___^

12:22 pm - Support Weekly Domness!
|
~dust off this journal a bit~ sorry for my lack of activities ^_^; Have been loaded with quite a bit of schoolwork, and other such things.
But! Just wanted to post about supporting Dom and helping to get his TV series picked up! Write to ABC! Tell them we want to see Dom on TV every week!
Email: netaudr@abc.com
ABC, Inc. 500 S. Buena Vista Street Burbank, CA 91521-4551
Heck, I'll start watching television again! XD
The series is called "Lost", for those of you living under a rock. It's written/created by the same dood who did "Alias", so it can't be all that bad, ne? Though the plot summaries I've read seems a little hokey-- 9 strangers get stranded on a deserted island and things get freak-a-y. But, hey, I'll watch it just for Dom. ;] Cross your fingers.

Return of the King won Best Film.
Infact, I believe Return of the King won everything.
GOOD.
;]
And I should be over there, right now, giving Dom huggies and congratulating him. But this is a twisted world we live in, so nothing is RIGHT. ;]

10:34 pm - Geisha? Dom? Geisha...?...DOM? GEISHA? XD
|
Asahi Weekly Interview with Dom and Billy By Ayako Karino Freelance Writer
( + ) Q: What are your feelings toward people looking at you as Pippin or Merry in everyday life and perhaps your career ?
Boyd: I don't mind because they're such great films and such lovely characters. But I think it's up to us as actors now, to pick our parts quite carefully so that people will see that we're not just hobbits. We can play other things. Dom will be very good in say, a geisha girl.
Monaghan: Well, thank you. It's a script I've been entertaining people with for the past couple of weeks. You should see me in a kimono. Ohhh!
Boyd: When he's closely shaved and got makeup on ...
Monaghan: I look very, very beautiful.
Boyd: Oh, he's quite enchanting!
Monaghan: Yeah, I wore it once at a fancy dress party. I told Elijah that I was going to turn up as a red Indian. But when I actually turned up as a geisha girl, he actually tried to kiss me. It's an ugly part of our relationship ! ( + ) Q: Do you have anything to add to that ?
Boyd: Do you? Do you ?
Monaghan: I can't, I can't. I can't do any better than that. How do you improve on perfection? It's like putting a cherry on top.
Boyd: Well you can tell me the cherry.
Monaghan: Uh, uh (shaking his head).
Q: Billy's like a teacher for you, isn't he ?
Monaghan: Ohh, he's like a wise old master. My samurai mentor.
Boyd: Go and get me some ice cream (laughing). No we teach each other. It's a wonderful relationship. One day I'm the teacher and the next day he is. One day, I'm the geisha, and then he's the geisha. One day I'm the frog and he's the prince.
Q: And where do you think your friendship is heading in the future? Dominic, you said you wanted to see Billy at your wedding ?
Boyd: If he pays for my plane fare.
Monaghan: I'll pay for it.
Boyd: And my hotel?
Monaghan: Well you can sleep on my floor with my new wife.
Boyd: OK. I'll go (laughing).
Monaghan: You know I think Billy and I will know each other for the rest of our lives. We can't go through an experience, which comes to define huge parts of you, and just let it all go. We've written this script together and we're going to try and work together. The idea for Billy and I is to go off and do our own things and come back every five years or so and do a project, whether it be a play, a film or a television show. Same goes for everyone else. We're constantly dreaming of new ways of trying to get back together.

8:47 am - OSCARS--
|
I think it's pretty cruddy that the Academy Awards keeps ignoring actors/actresses' performances in LOTR. Ah well.. if they give the Best Picture and Best Director award to the movie, then I'll forgive them for all their bullshitting since FOTR came out :)

And OMG, ROTK WON EVERYTHING THEY WERE NOMINATED FOR!
And Dom was just onstage and he was STILL SO CUTE :D :D :D :D :D K TNX!
I swear I'll stop now... lol
But yeah-- that rocks. Let's hope the Oscars open their eyes and give the movie and Peter Jackson what they deserve.
-- also, a note to people here on my friends' list.
I rarely read my friends' list on this livejournal. Like my user info says, this journal is just for me to get all my LOTR rants/babbles out. If you want me to read your LJ, I have another personal livejournal where I pay attention to my friends list. So.. unless you're on that other journal, too, don't expect me to be reading your LJ and making regular comments. I do check sometimes, but not all the time. Sorry... but reading so many friends' list is just too much x_X
Just want to let anyone know who might want to know. because I know people get peeved when other people on their friends' list don't read their entries ^^;

3:24 pm - Andy Serkis Book Signing This Friday--
|
So.. who's going this Friday to see Andy Serkis? :D Anyone reading this?
Andy Serkis' book tour http://www.theonering.net/perl/newsview/8/1073446170 January 16 @ 4:00 p.m. Vroman's 695 E. Colorado Blvd. Pasadena, CA 91101 626-449-5320
See, here's my deal. I want to go-- and I wanted to be there early with my cousin and our friend, Kateri. But.. there's some complications and I don't think we'll make it until 4 or 4:30-ish :(
It's Kateri's birthday that day-- she's our friend who gave us her pass to go see Sean Astin last Monday, so this is going to be our Xmas present for her.
So... anyone I know.. or can know... who would be there to stand early in line... let.. us... cut?.. maybe?..lol Erk. I know, cutting in line is terrible, but I really want to make sure Kateri would be able to see Mr. Serkis for her birthday. She's been really sad about missing out on a lot of things in the past (Elijah at ComicCon but her sister saw him, the ROTK L.A. premiere, then Sean Astin last Monday...), and this is just the thing to cheer her up...
Anyone care to help us out? ^-^;

10:02 am - Note to self--
|
Hello all, long time no update :D lol I started college recently and I have been working on some projects and such... I've been neglecting my LotR obsession lol
Anyways, I just wanted to keep a note for myself that Viggo Mortensen has a new art show in L.A.
Open through November 8th, at the Stephen Cohen Gallery, 7358 Beverly Blvd., Los Angeles. The gallery is open from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm http://www.theonering.net/perl/newsview/8/1063584037
I want to take the time to go! :o I've always wanted to see his artwork in person.
Otherwise, I have nothing else to talk about LotR-related ~sad~ I haven't had time to think about it, at all!

ROTK SPOILER! pics of ROTK action figures! You get to see Frodo and Sam in armour xD It's pretty neat.
Apparently, Dominic Monaghan dropped by Collectormania this past weekend, too, but not as a guest. Someone said they spotted him visiting Billy. Very cool.. hope to see pictures of that, soon. There's a lot of reports coming in at TOR.N about it, though. Some nice pictures of Billy :D

6:37 pm - Updates, updates.
|
Ms. Cate Blanchett was supposed to be presenting at the Academy Awards, but she is now withdrawing. She doesn't want to leave her child due to the current world situation.
Sir Ian McKellan will be in London this Sunday at a Peace Concert, where he'll be reciting a poem.
Apparently, Peter Jackson is also staying in New Zealand during the awards ceremony T_T
Waaaaaaahh! I don't even get to see PJ this weekend at the TORN party! :( Hmm.. so far, we predict Andy Serkis might show up since he seems to be in town, as evident to the book-signing he had last weekend (which I didn't get to go to T_T).
A small updated on my favorite duo-- Billy Boyd says that Dominic Monaghan is at home in LA, working on their script since it is a 'mess' xD
Sean Astin is going to be in a movie called 50 First Kisses with Drew Barrymore! That should be a great movie ^-^
